Corncockle Bianca - Agrostemma githago

Corncockle Bianca - Agrostemma githago

£2.25

Corncockle Bianca is an elegant variety with large white flowers on long, straight stems. Once a common sight in the cornfields, now corncockles are more often seen growing in a beautiful cottage garden border. They are good for a cut flower garden as they have a long vase life. They look amazing when tumbled into a vase with other informal flowers, or equally enchanting if displayed independently. Easy to grow, either started undercover or sowed directly into the soil.  Deadhead the flowers regularly to encourage more flowers.  Self-seeds freely. Seed Quantity: 100 Seeds Type: Hardy Annual Genus: Agrostemma githago Sow Seeds: Sow the seeds directly into the soil in September or April.  Grow them close together and use some netting for support.  Or sow into modules, pot on as required, and overwinter in an unheated greenhouse or polytunnel.  Germination is approximately 14 days. Plant Out: Can grow to about 1m and will benefit from growing through the netting for support.  Likes full sun. Flowers: July-September Height and Spread: 60–90 cm high x 30cm spread Corncockle Bianca - Agrostemma githago [https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0576/6004/7547/files/P4P_Yellow_RGB_480x480.webp] RHS PLANTS FOR POLLINATORS The RHS Plants for Pollinators mark is only given to plants that support pollinating insects.
