Scabious Black Knight

Scabious Black Knight

£2.40

These stunning, easy-to-grow and extremely rewarding hardy annuals are a favourite of butterflies and me!    They have a quick growth rate and produce an abundance of double pincushion flowers that are around 50mm across and sit atop tall, sturdy stalks. They bloom from the middle of summer to the beginning of autumn, adding a touch of sophistication to your border while also providing you with some excellent cut flowers. This variety is beautiful and dramatic, with extremely deep purple flower heads, some of which have exquisite white stigmas that contrast with the dark purple; some of the flowers actually do appear to be black.  Seed Quantity: 50 Seeds Type: Annual Genus: Scabious atropurpurea Sow Seeds: Sow March-April or September 3mm deep into well-drained, moist seed compost.  Keep at 15–18 degrees whilst germinating which can take 14+ days. Transplant into 8cm pots when large enough to handle and grow on. Plant Out: For autumn sowings keep the seedlings in an unheated greenhouse to over winter and plant out the following spring  Flowers: June-October Height & Spread: 90cm high x 45cm spread Scabious Black Knight [https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0576/6004/7547/files/P4P_Yellow_RGB_480x480.webp] RHS PLANTS FOR POLLINATORS.
