The Cowboys 1972 | Vasska

John Wayne's western film The Cowboys was released in 1972 and directed by Mark Rydell. The film tells the story of a rancher named Wil Andersen (Wayne), who is forced to hire a group of boys to help him drive his cattle to market after his hired hands abandon him. The Cowboys is known for its strong performances, particularly by Wayne, who brings both toughness and vulnerability to his role as the gruff but ultimately compassionate rancher. The hat he wore in the film is the one this customer ordered only he wanted everything to be on a bigger scale than the original. This pure beaver sand color has a 5.5” pinched crown and a 4.75” brim. It also has a complimentary 7/8” grosgrain band with stampede strings and officers cavalry cord hat band. This is one of my personal favorite western films and this hat has always been one that I admired.
